Benefits of Supplementing Your Usage of Electricity

Filed under: wind generators for home use — Tags: wind generators — admin @ 3:03 am

Going green can make a big difference in both the value of your home and your quality of life. Choose energy efficient appliances marked with the energy star.. Exchange all light bulbs for the compact fluorescent bulbs that last for seven years and use 75% less energy. Make use of natural light during the day by opening blinds and curtains You can start by supplementing just a portion of your power now and increase your renewable energy usage as time and your budget allow until you reach your goal of getting off the grid. Wind generators for home use are rapidly catching up with solar power. If you produce enough electricity to power all, or at least most, of your household electrical appliances your utility bill will be greatly reduced. You would also be reducing air pollution and lowering your carbon footprint. For those in more urban areas, it is still possible to do this with the noise free unobtrusive vertical axis wind turbines. Adding a small solar power grid and battery bank will allow you to store power for future use. There are solar thermal collectors that are specifically for heating your water from the sun’s energy. .

Swimsuits That Fit

Filed under: swimsuits — Tags: one piece swimsuit, swimsuits for big busts — admin @ 7:00 pm

When you want a swimsuit that fits comfortably and looks flattering you have to do a realistic survey of your body type. If you are well endowed you will need to consider how to balance the look.

Swimsuits for big busts can be very supportive and classy if you know how to combine the best fit with the most style. Consider your best features, then use accessories to draw away from the not so good features. No waist or larger thighs? Cover the areas you need to camouflage with a light sarong wrap, tied to the side or in the front.

If you are large on top but curvaceous everywhere else, you can purchase the two piece tops and bottoms separately for a perfect fit. Your top needs to have underwire for extra support and the halter top style that ties behind the neck allows for adjustable lift and support to your comfort. Avoid spaghetti straps and strapless tops.

In a one piece swimsuit the extra bust support of either a midriff banded halter-top or the Tankini style with a shelf bra that looks like a tank top will always be flattering.

Bold flower print in the right areas will add to the illusions you need to create and you will enjoy you day at the pool or beach in comfort.

Learning Squidoo at a Snails Pace

Filed under: transparency — Tags: Arkansas Staycations, Video Games Store — admin @ 5:53 pm

Some of us are squidoo whiz’s…and some of us are snails. I for one fit in the latter of the two categories. It has been fun trying, but it is painfully obvious that one must know many people who are willing to visit, rate and leave a comment, or your ranking will just not move! Of course, were I handy at all the other social sites like, hub pages, Digg etc., I might get a little more help.

So, in case anyone ever reads this website of mine, I am making this post to introduce my lens’ and requesting that you please visit and RATE my squiddo lens. The rate is very important as is a comment. One does not have to MAKE a squidoo lens to join, just as one does not have to “share” on facebook, just join. so, if there’s any people out there who might like to see my article on Arkansas Staycation-Vacations and view my great photo’s, or even visit my Video Games lens….please leave your footprint! I thank you in advance! Please send your friends also!

A New Look and a New Direction

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:41 pm

Just as the seasons change, so does my blog. While maintaining my desire to be above reproach and keenly positive, I also have a need to share events, people, places, and things that come into my life. So I have cleaned house and am hanging these new curtains on my web theme to celebrate these changes. Hope you enjoy some of my stories, photo’s and opinions.

Chimney Sweeps and Plumbers

Well, what fun we have had this past week at Rita’s House! Mom had her surgery the 28th of August (her 6th major surgery since 8/2004), came home for recuperation on the 30th again with me as caregiver. Water leak somewhere between the house and the $$$$$$meter made us have to turn off our water. Plumbers are working day & night since the tornado hit us in April of this year, so they are booking two weeks in advance.

Weather is cooling off so we called the chimney sweep to get our wood stove ready for winter. Discovered our rooftop piping was out of code (not tall enough), interior box was illegal this past few years, and interior piping was all put together upside down (thus the little black powder mess on top of the stove!)

Major overhaul on the stove pipe, new parts, bringing it all into code ($$$$$ certified chimney sweep has been kind, but he’s been here for nearly 5 hours making repairs as fast as he can!) Our whole house is in serious need of some updating, too many things have been done by the “handyman” who lived here, whomever that was back in the 80’s & 90’s.

Mom has been a trooper about all of it. I use buckets dipped in the bathtub I filled to flush the toilet, and we both decided we didn’t want the attic to catch fire this winter, so agreed to the wood stove repairs/remodel.

Plumber was also very nice and apologetic. He put us on the priority list after I used the ol’ “80 yr. old woman just out of the hospital” routine, and the fact that I have difficulty at 60 (hehe) turning that darned oddball water meter OFF and ON. Funny thing is, there is no shutoff valve at the house! We have cement parking/driveway between us and the meter- so the leak is likey UNDER all that! No telling what that will cost, nor what we will do all winter without water if it’s beyond our budget!

Just another day at Rita’s House.

Get Up, Dress Up and Show Up!

Filed under: Influence, authority, transparency — Tags: empathy, energy, enthusiasm, life — admin @ 7:47 pm

No matter how you feel and no matter how good or bad the situation, it will change. What ever anyone else thinks about you, it’s none of your business. Life is a learning process and problems are to be solved. These lessons will last a lifetime.

Invest your energy in positive things, and let go of things you can not change. Practice enthusiasm. Embrace empathy.

Give up hate. Play games and read books. Expand your interests and explore your thoughts. Sit in silence and really listen to inner self.

Eat well and drink plenty of water. Take care of yourself with exercise and proper rest.

Keep in touch with friends and family. Smile on purpose.

Forgive often an indiscriminately.

Make peace and keep within your own limits.

Sleep well at night and dream often while you are awake.

Take long walks to remind yourself of the beauty around you and trust that the best is yet to come.

Always, always , do the right thing.

Decide Who You Are

Filed under: Influence, authority, transparency — Tags: authority, Influence, responsibility, transparency — admin @ 3:04 pm
I can’t say it any better than this. We must, as a people inhabiting the same planet take responsibility for our decisions and who we are. This applies to all people from all walks of life.
“Every decision you make – every decision – is not a decision about what to do. It’s a decision about Who You Are. When you see this, when you understand it, everything changes. You begin to see life in a new way. All events, occurrences, and situations turn into opportunities to do what you came here to do.”

Neale Donald Walsch
